Y5/6 Homework
Hello Everyone,
I hope you all had a lovely Easter break and have been outside as much as possible in the beautiful sunshine.  I know this hasn’t been the Easter holiday you were planning but I hope you’ve all kept busy and done lots of fun things with your families.
It’s term time again now and even though we can’t be in school together yet, I will set you work to do at home each day.  Some of you have already been doing work that I set on our class account on Hwb before Easter.
The homework grid here on our school blog sets a piece of work for you to do each day.  I will also post the daily piece of work on our class account on Hwb. To find this:
Log on to Hwb.
Click Google for Education.
Click on our class account DW 2019 5/6.
To find your work, click on Classwork.
For most of the activities you can choose to do them either in your book or type them on a computer.
If you do work on the computer, to hand it in on our class account follow Tayla’s instructions:
To hand work in as a document and not in the comments you need to click on 'Add or Create' on the right hand side of the assignment. You can create a new document here and then when it is finished you click 'Hand In' and the work gets submitted.
If you do this I will be able to see your work and respond to it.
To find your daily maths homework please click on your maths group teacher’s page on our school blog.
You have all been given your HWB and My Maths user names and passwords, but if you are having difficulty please e-mail me on         maesycoedprimary82@gmail.com
I would also like you to try to do the ‘Daily Five’ activities if possible. These are reading, maths practice, keep fit, being creative and celebrating something you have done well.  There are some ideas for these below.
I miss you all and hope to see you back in school very soon.  In the meantime, do fun things, keep smiling and be kind to your family.

Ideas for the Daily Five

Maths Ideas – everyday maths such as telling the time, money and measures. Possible questions - What time does this TV programme start? How long did it last? What will the time be in 45 minutes? How long is it until you go to bed? How much does this cost? What coins / notes can I use? How much is this item plus this item? How much change would I have? What is the total weight of these two tins? How much flour do we need to make this? How many pop bottles would make 2 litres?
Keep Fit Ideas – Daily walk, jog or run, Joe Wicks PE work out, exercises in the garden, skipping, dancing, circuits in house or garden.

Singing is an important part of our life at Maes-y-Coed,  so we are keen to keep pupils singing and enjoying music home.
Please go to
www.outoftheark.co.uk
and click 'Take a look'.
You will find a different song released each day, with words on screen for pupils to sing along. You will also find activities / actions to accompany each song. Please take a look and have fun with singing!
